Draft document

Privacy commitments

Intended privacy practices for Residential Care Network. Nothing on this page is final.

Draft for legal review. This document is not yet the final governing policy.

What this draft covers

This document describes the privacy commitments the platform is being designed around. Several systems it references — accounts, listings, and billing — are not yet built, and this draft does not claim they are active today.

Searching without an account

Public search is intended to work without registration. We do not plan to require an account to browse states, counties, cities, care categories, or home profiles.

Search activity will not be sold, and it will not be used to build advertising profiles about visitors.

How visitors contact providers

The platform does not collect inquiry messages for transmission to providers. Visitors contact providers directly using the phone number, email address, or website the provider has published on its listing.

The platform does not know whether a visitor later tours or moves into a home.

Anonymous analytics only

The platform may record anonymous or aggregate activity such as profile views, search-result impressions, and clicks on call, email, or website buttons.

This does not include raw IP address storage, visitor profiles, advertising pixels, or third-party behavioural trackers.

Information we intend to collect

From providers: account and contact details, organization and home information, licensing details, photos, availability updates, posts, and subscription status.

We intend to collect only what is necessary to operate the directory.

Information we do not want

The platform is not designed to collect medical records, medication lists, diagnoses, or detailed protected health information, and providers are asked not to upload them.

Historical inquiry information

Earlier versions of this project described an inquiry-forwarding feature that has since been retired. Any historical inquiry information that may still exist from that earlier design remains subject to the previously disclosed retention and 12-month purge schedule.

Provider addresses

Many residential care homes operate from private residences. Providers choose how precisely their address appears publicly: exact, approximate, city and ZIP only, or hidden until contact.

Exact addresses and exact coordinates are stored securely and are not intended to become publicly readable automatically.

Professional Listing and any sponsored advertising are paid products and will always be labeled in text.

Verification, when performed, is completed by an administrator against official state records and is not available for purchase.

Sharing and sale of personal information

We do not intend to sell or rent personal information, including family contact information. Limited processors — for example hosting, database, and email delivery providers — will be used to operate the service. Privacy language covering Stripe and payment processing will be added before payment activation.

Retention and your choices

Retention periods, deletion requests, and access requests for provider account information will be finalized with counsel before launch. This draft does not yet state binding retention terms for that information.
